MedcoEnergi reports oil pipeline leak in S. Sumatra

MedcoEnergi said the leaking pipeline, which was occurred on May 10 at the Ibul village of Muara Enim regency, South Sumatra Province, caused an oil spill of around 25 barrels.
The company also said it was currently working together with local regency to measure and prevent the damages that might be caused to both people and the environment. The team was also investigating the cause of the leak.
?The clean up is expected for one week period. There was no injury nor fatality caused by this incident,? MedcoEnergi said in a statement to the Jakarta Stock Exchange.
The company added that it would supply foods and clean water to about 500 people who leave in the line the community surrounding the safety line area until they could light a fire an obtain the clean water. (Robert)
