Aceh-based coal miner PT Media Djaya Bersama has set a target for its coal mining concession in Aceh to begin production in October of this year, according to IDX-listed investment firm ABM Investama in its 2012 annual report on Tuesday.

ABM Investama, through subsidiary PT Reswara Minergi Hartama, owns 70 percent stake in Media Djaya.

The latter company is currently still focusing on developing the necessary infrastructure facilities in the Aceh coal concession such as the construction of coal processing, crusher and stockpile facilities, overhaul road, overland conveyor belt, and shipment facility.

Over the next four to five years, the project is expected to produce up to 15 million tons of coal per year.

The concession covers an area of 4,629 hectares, with estimated coal resources of around 365 million tons.
