Media Djaya to produce 6 MT in 2013

Aceh-based coal miner PT Media Djaya Bersama, a holding company of PT Mifa Bersaudara and PT Bara Energy Lestari is expecting to commence commercial production with the target of six million tons next year, the company has said.

The company currently produces one million tons of coal supplied to the company?s 15 MW coal-fired power plant which is generating electricity for local community residing near by. ?We are getting ready for a commercial production by 2013 with the expected output of up to six million tons,? the source said.

The company is planning to ramp up its coal production to 10 million tons in 2014 and further to 15 million tons by 2016.

The company?s subsidiary of Mifa Bersaudara has 3,143 hectares and Bara Energy Lestari has 1,500 hectares ? both located in Meulaboh, Aceh.

Media Djaya Bersama is owned by PT Reswara Minergi Hartama, a coal holding unit of Indonesia-listed integrated firm PT ABM Investama Tbk.
