Megawati dedicates 14 oil, gas projects

President Megawati Soekarnoputri Monday launched four new oil and gas projects and dedicated the commencement of 10 similar projects in a special ceremony in Balongan, West Java.

State oil and gas firm Pertamina and French energy firm Total E&P Indonesie had developed the four projects, while the 10 projects will be carried out by Pertamina and state gas transmission and distribution company PGN.

The four were Pertamina?s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plant in Limau Timur, South Sumatra; Pertamina?s LPG plant in Indramayu, West Java; Pertamina?s CO2 removal project in Subang, West Java; and Total?s Tunu field development project phase 8 and gas processing plant in East Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, the 10 projects to be developed included Pertamina?s natural gas liquefaction plant in Plaju, South Sumatra; Pertamina?s unleaded gasoline production facility in Cilacap, Central java; PGN?s gas transmission pipeline project to link Pagardewa (S. Sumatra) to Cilegon (W. Java); Pertamina?s gas resources development project in South Sumatraa; and Pertamina?s fuel depot in Cikampek, West Java. (godang)
