Megawati to install top officials of downstream oil, gas body

President Megawati Soekarnoputri will on Monday install top officials of the body that manages the country?s downstream oil and gas sector, an official told Petromindo.Com. Wednesday.

They will be body head Tubagus Hariyono and the eight people who will chair its commissions, said TA Nur Winakun, head of the legal affairs and public relations section of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Tubagus is a House member.

The secretary of the body will also be inaugurated on the same occasion, said Nur Winakun, who is one of the body?s commission chairmen.

The other commission chairmen are Lubna Amir, a business consultant; Shahabudin, director of exploitation and trade at the oil and gas directorate general; Hanggono T. Nugroho from National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas); Eri Purnomohadi, chairman of National Entrepreneurs Association; Amat Ramlan Ginting, head of the Maluku provincial office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; Hairyati, former executive of state gas transmission and distribution company PGN; and Iwan Faidi from Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (BPPN).

The body, formed last year based on the current oil and gas law, is tasked with managing oil products and their distribution along with natural gas pipeline transportation. (godang)
