Megawati to open Houston energy conference

President Megawati Soekarnoputri is set to open the Houston energy conference on September 23, according to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro.

Megawati left for the U.S. to meet President G. Bush Monday and expected to arrive in Washington Wednesday. During her visit in the U.S., Megawati has been scheduled to open the energy conference.

The terrorist attacks on the U.S. last week has caused earlier doubt whether Megawati would proceed with the U.S. visit and the energy conference.(Godang)
