Megawati to visit Japan, hold talks about power projects

President Megawati Soekarnoputri will hold talks with Japanese officials and business leaders about four giant power and petrochemical projects in Indonesia during her visit to that country which is scheduled to take place soon, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro told Petromindo.Com Wednesday.
?The President will visit Japan soon, but the exact date of the visit has yet to be decided,? Purnomo said.
The minister said that the four projects were Tanjung Jati B steam power project in Central Java, Paiton coal-powered plant in East Java, Tuban petrochemical plant in East Java, and Chandra Asri petrochemical project in Banten.
Several Japanese lenders support the projects including Japanese Bank for International Cooperation, Mitsui & Co. and Nippon Export Insurance. (godang)
