MEMR: 26 smelters ready for commissioning

Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy Mineral Resources (MEMR) said that currently there are 26 smelter plants which have reached the stage of commissioning or production.
Director General of Mineral and Coal, R. Sukhyar said on Thursday in Jakarta that the 26 smelters which have been categorized to be in the stage of commissioning and production are those, which have completed 80-90 percent of the targeted construciton works.
The 26 smelters are as follows.
1. Nickel commodity (one smelter plant)
- PT Cahaya Modern Metal Industri (nickel smelter) in Southeast Sulawesi.
2. Bauxite commodity (one smelter plant)
- PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina in West Kalimantan
3. Iron commodity (4 smelters)
- PT Indofero in Banten
- PT Krakatau Posco in Banten
- PT Meratus Jaya Iron Steel in South Kalimantan
- PT Delta Prima Steel in South Kalimantan
4. Manganese commodity (two smelters)
-PT. Century Metalindo in Banten
- PT Indotama Ferro Alloy in West Java
5. Zirkon commodity (14 smelters)
- PT Monochem Surya in West Java
- PT Katingan Inmas Sarana in East Java
- CV Agung Persada, PT. Tatanan Indah Cemerlang, PT. Irvan Prima Pratama, CV Harapan Mandiri, PT Zirmet Mining, CV Usaha Maju, PT. Karya Res Lisbeth, PT. Takaras Inti Lestari, PT Bumi Kencana Sentosa, PT. Borneo Lintas Serawak, PT Lubuk Katingan Perdana all are located in Central Kalimantan.
6. kaolin and zeolite commodity (4 smelters)
- PT Garuda Artha Resources
- PT Panja Multi Mineralindo and PT Wahah Tekmindo in West Java
- PT Bojong Buana Mineralindo in central Java.
Meanhile there are 112 smelters which are still at the stage of feasibility studies (6 percent development); in the process of getting environmental license or AMDAL 16 smelters (6-10 percent); ground breaking stage 15 smelters (11-30 percent); and under construction process 10 smelters (31-50 percent).
