The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has appointed an echelon II official to become director of the newly-set up directorate at the ministry in charge of collecting and managing non-tax revenue from the mining sector.
Ministry?s spokesman Sujatmiko said on Thursday that other staff of the new directorate has also been recruited, thus the appointed director can immediately work following official installation ceremony. ?The inauguration ceremony will be held on July 20,? he said, but declined to disclose the name of the director.
The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform in May approved a proposal to set up the new directorate for non-tax revenue from the mining sector. The management of the non-tax state revenue under the Directorate General of Mineral Coal had been less optimum due to a combination of lack of human resources and authority. The new directorate will have dedicated manpower and greater authority in managing the non-tax state revenue.
