MEMR hands over 11 mining permits to BKPM

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said officially transferred on Thursday the procurement process of 11 permits in the coal and mineral sector to the one-stop service unit of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

This is part of the current administration?s efforts to streamline business permits in the country to help accelerate investment in the key sector. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), as has been previously reported, also handed over the procurement of 10 out of 42 business permits in the oil and gas sector to the BKPM unit.

The 11 permits handed over to BKPM include mining business license for exploration, mining business license for production and its renewal, termination of mining business license if miners return their concessions, special production operation mining business license for transport, sales and its renewal, special production operation mining business license for processing, refining, and its renewal, temporary permit for transport and sales, production operation mining business license for sales, principle permit for processing and/refining, mining service license and its renewal, approval for the change in the investment status of mining firms from domestic investment scheme (PMDN) into foreign investment scheme (PMA) and vice versa, and approval for changes in special production operation mining business license for transport and sales.
