MEMR, IEA sign cooperation agreement

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) signed on Wednesday a joint work program (JWP) on exchange of data and information on energy, oil and gas market, renewables, power sector, and related policies.

The ministry said in a statement obtained Thursday that under the JWP, IEA will also help build capacity of ministry?s staff in data management and analysis, which in turn would help government efforts toward energy independence.

The JWP was signed by Director General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the ministry Rida Mulyana and IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol.
