MEMR inaugurates city gas network in Probolinggo and Pasuruan

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has inaugurated the operation of city gas distribution network in Probolinggo and Pasuruan regencies in East Java.

On Wednesday (16/10), Acting Director General for Oil and Gas at the MEMR officially inaugurated the operation of city gas distribution network, in which 8,150 households (SR) in the two regencies are connected with the city gas network.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Probolinggo Regency Had, Puput Tantrin Sari, Committee member of downstream authority Sumihar Panjaitan and Redy Ferryanto, Director for Infrastructure and Technology of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), the developer of the city gas distribution network.

On national scale, as many as 74,307 households have been connected with the city gas distribution network, known as Jargas.

Djoko Siswanto said the gas distributed through the city gas network is supplied by Husky-CNOOC Madura Ltd (HCML) at volume of 0.2 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).

The development city gas distribution network in these two regencies began on April 26, 2018. The project was completed in 216 days, which was ahead of schedule.

HCML, formerly known as Husky Oil (Madura) Limited, is the operator of Madura Strait block. HCML is owned by Husky Oil Madura Partnership (HOMP), CNOOC South East Asia Limited (CNOOC) and SMS Development Limited.
