MEMR issues new regulation on requirements for CNG distribution

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has issued Regulation No 8/2014, which stipulates the various requirements that must be fulfilled by companies interested to be engaged in the distribution of gas in the form of CNG for land transportation.
According to a copy of the new regulation, in addition to various administrative requirements, the interested firms must also have experience and the necessary infrastructure facilities to distribute the CNG.
In case that no private firms interested in distributing CNG in certain areas, according to the regulation, the government will appoint state-owned firms to take the role.
