The Directorate General of Coal and Mineral at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has issued a new Regulation No 216 K/30/DJB/2014 on the mechanism to obtain technical considerations of borrow and use of forest area for coal and mineral mining activities.
According to a copy of the regulation obtained by Petromindo.com Thursday, miners holding IUP mining permits whose concessions are located in forest areas are required to first get the technical considerations from the directorate general before seeking for the borrow and use of forest area permit from the Ministry of Forestry.
In order to be able to obtain the required technical considerations, miners must provide related proper documents such as copies of clean & clear certificate, receipt for the payment of non-tax revenue obligation, reclamation fund deposit, work plan approved by local administrations, mining area map issued by the directorate, and recommendation letter from governor or mayor/regent for the use of forest area.
