MEMR maintains electricity tariff for Jan-March 2021

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has decided to maintain the electricity tariff for 13 non-subsidized consumer groups for the period of Jan. 1 to March 31, 2021 as part of the efforts to maintain consumers' purchasing power.
The MEMR also said in a statement that it also maintains the electricity tariff rate for 25 subsidized consumer groups. These consumer groups consist of micro, small and medium enterprises, micro industries and private entities engaging in social activities.
The government even provides social protection over the impact of the Covid-19 to these subsidized consumers by granting electricity tariff discounts, said the Bureau Head for Public Information Service of MEMR Agung Pribadi said in a statement on Friday (04/12).

Based on the existing regulation, the government reviews the electricity tariff on a three-month basis by considering the macro-economic indicators, such as the rupiah-exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), Inflation, coal reference price (HPB)
In the period of August to October 2020, the rupiah exchange rate to US dollar stood at Rp14,773/US$, ICP at 39.04 US$/barrel, inflation at -0.01 percent and coal reference price at Rp651.72/kg.
Although there have been changes in some of those indicators, the government decided to maintain the electricity tariff for January-March 31, 2021 period.
