MEMR mulls request to exploit coal potential at Pertamina?s concession

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) is still evaluating a request made by IDX-listed coal miner PT Adaro Energy Tbk to exploit coal potential located in the oil concession are of PT Pertamina EP in South Kalimantan.
This was said by ministry Secretary General Teguh Pamudji to Petromindo.com on Friday. He said that the Pertamina concession overlaps with the coal concession of Adaro.
Tegu said that Adaro will only exploit coal potential in 20 non-active oil wells within the Pertamina EP concession.
Meanwhile, Pertamina EP Public Relations Head M. Baron said that the company is still in talks with Adaro regarding the technical and economic matters. No further details were provided.
