MEMR recommends 12 coal firms to get registered exporter status

The paper quoted Paul Lubis, Secretary of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the ministry, said that based on recent evaluation process, the 12 coal miners have met the necessary requirements.
He said that the recommendation letter was scheduled to be handed over the MoT today.
According to a new government regulation, set to be effective September 1, coal miners must obtain registered exporter status from the MoT to be able to ship the commodity overseas. A recommendation letter from the MEMR is necessary to obtain the registered exporter status.
Paul said that of the aforementioned 12 coal miners, 11 hold the coal mining contract of works or PKP2B, one of which is owned by Banpu Group. (*)
