Head of Geology Resources Center at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) Calvin Karo-Karo Gurusinga said government will put geology potential data into the geology resources of a geographical information system (SIGNAS).
The arrangement aims to help government synchronizing the issuance of clean and clear (CnC) status for coal and minerals mining business permits (IUP).
"IUP holders have obligation to conduct exploration and report the result to both the local and central government," Calvin told Petromindo.com. The submission of data comprises of the resources and geology data.
SIGNAS is an important tool to know and manage geology potentials, avoid fake IUP, and improve minerals and coal reserves data.
Calvin said that had all the geology data input to the SIGNAS well implemented starting 4 years ago, the government would easily have completed issuing the CnC status for all IUPs.
