MEMR's Geology Center manages geographic information system

Head of Geology Resources Center at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) Calvin Karo-Karo Gurusinga said government will put geology potential data into geology resources of geographical information system (SIGNAS).

The arrangement aims to help government synchronizing the issuance of clean and clear (CnC) status for coal and mining business permit (IUP).

"IUP holders have obligation to conduct exploration and report the result both to local and central government," Calvin told to Petromindo.com. The submission of data comprises of the resources and geology data.

SIGNAS is important to know geology potential, avoid fake IUP and increase minerals and coal reserves data.

Calvin said that if the discourse of geology data input to the SIGNAS was implemented 4 years ago, government will be easily issue the CnC status for IUPs.
