MEMR to connect 266,070 households with city gas network this year

Directorate General for Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said it will spend Rp4.12 trillion in 2020, which will be largely used to develop gas infrastructure, in particular city gas household network.

Acting Director General for Oil and Gas, Djoko Siswanto, said 92.13 percent of the Rp4.12 trillion expenditures will be used to develop gas infrastructure, including connecting 266,070 households with city gas network program in 49 cities.

Portion of the funds will also be used to purchase fuel-to-gas converter kit, totaling 50,000 packages, that will be distributed to fishermen as well as distributing 522,616 units 3-kg of LPG cylinders to farmers.

In 2020, the government will also tender out 12 oil and gas working areas (WAs), consisting of 10 conventional oil and gas WAs and 2 non-conventional WAs.

The government will also start implementing the B30 program with a target to blend 9.59 million kiloliters of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), a derivative product of crude palm oil, which will allow the government to save US$4.56 billion per year.
