Mengoepeh field starts supplying oil to Plaju refinery

Singapore-based company Pearl Oil has started to supply oil production from its Mengoepeh oilfield at Tungkal PSC to Plaju refinery, which are located in South Sumatra.

?Production from Mengoepeh oilfield is currently flowing at about 1,000 barrels of oil per day. Oil produced is transported through pipeline to Plaju refinery,? BPMIGAS deputy chairman Trijana Kartoatmodjo said Friday.

The Tungkal PSC is located in the northwest portion of the South Sumatra Basin. The prolific oil and gas producing Tertiary basin contains several significant developments, including the Corridor Gas Project.

According to Pearl Oil, forecast oil production during 2005 and 2006 is 3,000 bopd and 4,000 bopd respectively, with production decline following a typical decline curve thereafter. (alex)
