MEO spuds Gurame SE-1X well

Australia-listed firm MEO Australia Limited announced that the Gurame SE-1X well within the Seruway PSC in North Sumatra was spudded on September 23.

A precautionary 8?? pilot hole was drilled to a depth of 202m MDRT (measured depth below rotary table) and at 0600 this morning had been opened to 26? to a depth of 144m MDRT. Hole opening to 26? will continue to 202m MDRT,? it said in an operation update report received by petromindo.com Monday.

The Hercules #208 rig has previously arrived at the Gurame SE-1X location on September 21. The well was spudded at 0600 local time on 23rd September after the 30? conductor was driven to 57m below mud line.

The company said the drilling would take approximately 35 days to complete on an untested basis and require US$25 million in investment.
