Medco E&P Indonesia (MEPI), a unit of JSX-listed Medco Energi International Tbk. is seeking permission from upstream oil and gas authority to farm out Merangin I onshore exploration block in South Sumatra.

Company official Aditya Mandala said that MEPI is looking for partner to explore the block but thus far the company had not had firm talks with interested parties.

Medco won the block through government tender in 2003 and committed US$23.3 million in six years to carry out exploration activities on the block. The block is located near Medco?s crown asset Kaji/Semoga oil field. (godang)
