Mercator reports all-time monthly high in coal handling

India?s Mercator Limited, which has various business interests including in coal, oil and gas, and commodity transportation and dredging, said Tuesday that in December of last year its subsidiary in Indonesia has achieved all-time monthly high in crushing, dispatch and third party loading quantity of coal.
The company said in a statement that coal crushing volume during the month reached a record high of 377,000 metric tons, compared to previous best of 317,000 tons in November of last year.
Coal dispatch in December was 383,000 tons compared to previous best of 369,000 tons in November.
And third party loading was 254,000 tons compared to previous best of 201,000 tons in October of 2016.
?Our subsidiary in Indonesia has also achieved highest hauling of 16,018 tons in a single day on December 21, 2016 vis-a-vis previous best of 15,851 tons on October 31, 2016,? Mercator said in the statement.
?Moreover, our subsidiary in Indonesia has recorded cumulative coal handling of 2.901 million tons during the period April 2016 to December 2016 which includes handling of own coal production of 1.275 million tons? it added.
According to company website, Mercator through subsidiaries has mining licenses for coal block in Batuah region of East Kalimantan Province. Operation at Batuah mine commenced in August 2012.
