Mermaid secures work for MTR-1 rig

Singapore-listed Thai firm Mermaid Maritime PCL revealed on Tuesday that an undisclosed international oil & gas company operating in Indonesia have currently accepted its tender drilling rig MTR‐1 as an accommodation/work over support barge for 150 day charter.
The potential contract value is US$5 million and currently awaiting approval from upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS, the company said. The rig is currently located in Thailand.
The company also said that its other rig MTR‐2 is working for Chevron in Indonesia on a new 9-months contract for 270 days worth US$ 26.5 million ending in April 2012. (alex)
