IDX-listed PT Nusantara Infastructure Tbk (META) is yet to start the development of toll road that will link Makassar city and Makassar New Port (MNP) pending on agreed cooperation scheme between the company and state-owned port operator PT Pelindo IV.

President Director of META M. Ramdanai Basri was quoted by Bisnis.com as saying that will be jointly developed by the two companies. META, he said, is ready to invest in the toll road project in return for appropriate compensation.

"This is actually a B-to-B talks. Investment will come from us therefore, there should be (agreed) toll tariff. However, we don't know the concrete compensation as yet," Ramdani was said.

The toll access will have a length of two kilometers. The toll access will also be connected with the Tallo-Hasanuddin Airport toll road as well as Seokarno Hatta-Pettarani port.

The two toll roads are operated by PT Jalan Tol Seksi Empat and PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara respectively.

Director of META Omar Danni Hassan said earlier that the route for the toll road has not been decided, therefore the company could not estimate the cost yet.

He noted that although it is only two kilometers, constructing the toll access will be quite challenging as it will pass through existing non-toll roads.

He, however, expects that the toll road's construction can start later this year. (*)
