MHU declares force majeure

East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) said it had to delay shipment of one panamax (75,000 tons) of coal shipment to its Japan customers following accident in Pulau Laut Coal Terminal off South Kalimantan.

?We have declared force majeure on that one shipment,? said MHU official Obang Suwandi.

Obang said coal loading to customers will be shifted Mahakam transshipment, which can also service panamax size vessels.

South Kalimantan coal terminal operator Indonesia Bulk Terminal on Monday declared force majeur to its customers after a vessel hit the port?s jetty while trying to maneuver, causing the company unable to continue its activities.

Pulau laut operator PT.Indonesia Bulk Terminal declared force majeure on Monday after a panamax vessel hit the jetty, causing serous damage to the conveyor and forcing. The damage has caused IBT to cease operation, with repair process estimated to be completed in 4-6 weeks times. (maya/godang)
