MHU developing three new mines

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) said that the company is undertaking the development of three new mines in its concession area to increase production from its current capacity of 2.5 million tons per year to a minimum of 7 million tons per year.
The company profile distributed at the Coaltrans Asia says that the new mines are located in two blocks, Busang and Jonggon, and have coal with calorific value ranging from 5,000 kcal/kg to 7,400 kcal/kg and total moisture of between 7.6 percent (ar) to 27.7 percent.
MHU is a first generation coal contract of work (CCoW) with total area of 46,210 hectares.
