MHU to complete river coal port next year

MHU is expecting to complete the construction of its new coal terminals in Loa Kulu and Teluk Dalam, Kutai Kartanegara regency in January and mid 2012 with installed capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and 3 MTPA throughputs, respectively, the official said.
Once, the terminals are completed, MHU will be able to produce around 3 million tonnes of coal next year, from around 2 million per year, currently, the official said. The additional coal output will come from Loa Kulu pit and Teluk Dalam pit, the official added.
Currently, all of MHU?s coal production comes from Busang ?Jonggon pit, which the coal from Busang-Jonggon pit is delivering to Beloro Seberang coal terminal.
MHU coal concession is located in a separate area, far from another, make the company needs to build more riverbank coal terminal to boost its coal output.
MHU was planning to quadruple production to 10 million tonnes. The production addition will come several new blocks including Loa Kulu pit in North Gitan block, Teluk Dalam and Tanjung Lahung blocks.
