A number of retired Indonesian military officers have been appointed to senior leadership positions at state-owned mining holding company MIND ID and several of its subsidiaries following a series of management changes over the past year.
At the holding level, MIND ID appointed Air Force General Maroef Sjamsoeddin as president director in 2025, replacing Hendi Prio Santoso. Maroef previously served as deputy head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) and president director of PT Freeport Indonesia.
Among MIND ID's listed subsidiaries, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (IDX: ANTM) is led by retired Army General Untung Budiharto as president director. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (IDX: PTBA) is headed by retired Army General Bambang Ismawan, formerly Chief of General Staff of the Indonesian Armed Forces, while PT Timah Tbk (IDX: TINS) is led by retired Infantry officer Restu Widiyantoro.
Military retirees have also been appointed to commissioner positions across the group. PTBA named former Air Force Chief of Staff Ida Bagus Putu Dunia as president commissioner. At PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum), retired Major General Musa Bangun serves as president commissioner, while retired Brigadier General Hari Soebagijo serves as independent commissioner.
