MIM bags spot coal order from India

Mining and trading firm PT. Modal Investasi Mineral (MIM) said on Wednesday its trading unit has secured spot coal supply deal to a Southern Indian power plant.

Operations Director Hari Purnomo told Petromindo.Com that a trial shipment of 40,000 tonnes of coal would be shipped to the Indian customer early September and would be followed by three other similar shipments within three month?s time if the trial is successful.

Purnomo said coal CV for the shipment range from 5,600-5,800Kcal/kg and would be sourced from Kalimantan mines.

Purnomo said the newly established trading unit is aiming to trade 400,000 tonnes of coal next year.

MIM is a unit of JSX-listed mining firm ATPK Resources. (denny)
