Mining and trading firm PT. Modal Investasi Mineral (MIM) said on Monday it had short-listed two contractors to mine its East Kalimantan mining concession, which is slated to start production by the end of this year.

Operations Director Hari Purnomo told Petromindo.Com on Monday that Semarang-based PT Citra Berlian Utama and Jakarta-based PT HESSCO are two candidates to carry out mining activities for MIM?s subsidiary PT Mega Alam Sejahtera (MAS).

?MIM is selecting contractor which will be able to mine 40,000 tonnes per month at the start of the production, ramping up to 100,000-120,000 tonnes per month within the next few months,? he said.

MIM is a unit of JSX-listed mining firm ATPK Resources. (denny)
