A consortium of mineral, coal and geothermal resources rich regencies have called on the central government to review a number of articles in the new mining law because it has several articles which could result in the decline in their revenues.
The consortium?s secretary Budi Surjonoi said in Jakarta on Monday that the consortium members had agreed to file a judicial review on a number of articles of the law No 4/2009.
?The central government should reconsider the implementation of the law for the sake of the people,? he said.
West Sumbawa regent Zulkifli Muhadli said that a number of articles in the mining law could cause losses to the state. ?For example, the article 162 stipulates that the state revenues in Contract of Works should not be changed,? he said. ?Why should not be changed if we have an opportunity to raise the revenues,? he added.
