Minerba issues new directive on mining permit supervision

The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued a new directive to all provincial governors in the country, reaffirming an earlier minister regulation, tasking governors to supervise the process to revamp the various mining permits issued by regency/mayoralty administrations.
Minerba said in a statement obtained Friday that Directive No 04 E/30/DJB/2014 dated April 14, 2014 is a follow up of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No 2/2014 on handing over part of the authority in the mining sector to provincial governors specifically in the management and supervision of the restructuring process of permits in the mining sector in a bid to produce permits that are both ?clear and clear.?
