The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued a new Directorate Regulation No 698 K/30/DJB/2014 on the procedure for provincial, regency, and mayoralty administrations in getting access to mining area information contained in the Indonesia Mineral and Coal One Map, or better known under its Bahasa abbreviation of MOMI.

According to the copy of the regulation obtained Tuesday, the regional administrations have the right to get information contained in MOMI, but the access will only be given after obtaining approval from the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal.

The local administrations and related government offices can also update the information in MOMI.

The regulation, however, stipulates that the local administrations are not allowed to sell the information contained in MOMI to other parties.

They are also not allowed to pass on the user ID and password to the integrated computer-based MOMI, or risked their access to the information be revoked.
