Erlan Suherlan, President Director of PT Solo Citra Metro Plasma Power (SCMPP), contractor of the PLTSa project in Solo, said on Thursday that the mini power plant will produce 150 kWh of electricity.
He said that the mini power plant, using gasification technology, will process 10 tons of waste materials. He added that the electricity will be used for internal consumption of the company.
Erlan said that company is developing a waste-based power plant (PLTSa) project at the Putri Cemp landfill with a capacity of 5 MW in the first phase, targeted for completion in 2021, and to be further expanded to 10 MW in the second phase. The electricity will be exported to power grid of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
Erlan was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a visit to the project on Thursday by State Minister of National Development Planning, Bambang Brodjonegoro, who lauded the gasification technology used in the PLTSa project as it would allow the plant not to produce any emission in electricity production. He said that the gasification technology of the Solo PLTSa could be replicated in 12 other cities to help resolve city waste problem and produce environmentally friendly electricity. (*)
