Nickel mining firms PT Persadatama Inti Jaya Mandiri (PIJM), PT Morindo Bangun Sejahtera (MBS), and four other nickel miners have filed a lawsuit against the Central Sulawesi governor with the State Administrative Court (PTUN) in Palu following the governor?s decision to reduce the size of their concessions due to overlapping problem.

This was said by a source, who requested for anonymity to Petromindo.com on Thursday, but did not disclose the name of the four other nickel mining firms.

The source explained that the overlapping problem emerged following the issuance of Minister of Internal Affairs Regulation in 2010 on border areas between Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi Provinces. The change in the border areas have caused the concessions of the aforementioned six nickel mining firms, which are located in Morowali (Central Sulawesi to overlap with the concession of mining firm of Bintang Delapan Wahana in Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi. To resolve the overlapping issue, the governor then reduced the concessions of the mining firms.

The source said that the court is scheduled next week to look into the evidences such as documents prepared by the mining firms.
