Minister: 25 mining firms to sign contract amendment this month

Following lengthy negotiations, a total of 25 mining firms are finally ready to sign amendment of their mining contracts with the government this month.

This was revealed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said during a hearing session late last week with the House of Representatives Commission VII on energy and mining.

The 25 mining firms comprise of 13 mineral mining companies holding the so-called mining contracts of work, or better known under the Bahasa acronym of KK, and 12 coal mining firms holding the coal contracts of work, or PKP2B.

According to the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, the 12 PKP2B coal miners include PT Banjar Intan Mandiri, PD Baramarta, PT Tanjung Alam Jaya, PT Bara Pramulya Abadi, PT Sumber Kurnia Buana, PT Batualam Selaras, PT Ekasatya Yanatama, PT Baturona Adimulya, PT Astaka Dodol, PT Selo Argodedali, PT Selo Argokencono Sakti, and PT Karya Bumi Baratama

Meanwhile, the 13 KK miners include PT Karimun Granit, PT Paragon Perdana Mining, PT Meares Soputan Mining, PT Tambang Tondano Nusajaya, PT JResources Bolaang Mongondow, PT Gorontalo Sejahtera Mining, PT Iriana Mutiara Idenburg, PT Iriana Mutiara Mining, PT Woyla Aceh Minerals,PT Gag Nikel,PT Sorikmas Mining, PT Tambang Mas Sable and PT Tambang Mas Sangihe.
