Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik christened today (Tuesday) the Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) facility of the Banyu Urip field in Cepu block, naming it Gagak Rimang.

The ship naming ceremony was held at the Sembawang shipyard in Singapore, where the FSO is being built. The ceremony was attended by among others SKK Migas?s acting chairman J. Widjonarko, Indonesia?s Ambassador in Singapore Andri Hadi, Bojonegoro?s Regent Suyoto, Tuban?s Regent Fathul Huda and Vice President of ExxonMobil Development Company Raymond Jones.

The construction of the FSO has been 90 percent completed, SKK Migas said in a release.

The FSO will be one of the key facilities to be used for the full production of the Banyu Urip oil field in 2015. The field, which now produces 30,000 bopd, is expected to raise production by 10,000 bopd in late August or early September, using early production facilities. Several facilities are now being developed, including the FSO, to bring the field?s production into full capacity of 165,000 bopd in 2015.

The FSO is developed by the consortium of PT Scorpa Pranedya and Sembawang Shipyard. Gagak Rimang is the name of a horse owned by a local king called Adipati Arya Jipang, who reigned over Cepu, Blora, Bojonegoro and Tuban in 17th century.

The FSO has a storage capacity of 1.7 million barrels of oil. It will store oil supplied from the Bojonegoro oil processing center.
