Minister delegates oil, gas licensing authority to BKPM

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan has issued new Ministerial Regulation No 40/2017 delegating licensing authority in oil and gas business to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

According to the copy of the new regulation obtained by Petromindo.com on Wednesday, licenses delegated to BKPM include licenses for survey, utilization of oil and gas data, business licenses for oil and gas processing, business license for oil and gas storage, business license for oil and gas transportation, business license for oil and gas commerce.

License for utilization of oil and gas data covers the utilization of data resulting from general survey, joint study, exploration, exploitation, for evaluation and data processing both at home and overseas, and exploration and exploitation activities for the purpose of disclosing data.

As part of the licensing authority delegation, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the ministry shall station some of its officials at BKPM to provide assistance to the latter and for coordination purposes with the directorate.
