Minister: Fuel price hike will be in October

Minister of Finance Jusuf Anwar said that domestic fuel prices will be increased in October to adjust with the rising international market prices, the Koran Tempo newspaper reported in its Wednesday edition.

?The burden of fuel subsidies will not be carried any more,? Jusuf said during a hearing with the Regional Representative Council in Jakarta on Tuesday.

For the state budget, according to Jusuf, it will be much better if the fuel prices increased very soon.

?In October, the burden will be reduced and we can live comfortably,? Jusuf said.

Jusuf mentioned that the government has decided to raise the fuel prices in October. (*)
