Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik on Thursday inaugurated the operation of seven power plant projects in Sulawesi.
The seven projects are (2x25 MW) coal-fired PLTU Amurang, 10 MW Unit II of coal-fired PLTU Kendari, 20 MW geothermal PLTP Lahendong IV, 2x1 MW micro hydro Tomini II, solar PLTS Miangas (85 kWp), PLTS Bunaken (335 kWp), and PLTS Marampit (125 kWp), the Ministry said in a statement.
Wacik said the operation of those power plants should provide a strong platform for the government to continue to reduce its dependency on oil-based fuels.
