Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan officially inaugurated on Sunday the Sumpal Compression Project at the Corridor Block, in Muba Regency, South Sumatra Province, operated by ConocoPhillips.
The ministry said in a statement that Head of upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Amien Sunaryadi, and President Director of ConocoPhillips (Grissik) Indonesia Ltd., Bijan Agarwal, also attended the inauguration ceremony.
The statement said that the minister appreciated the fact that the project was completed three months ahead of schedule. The gas processing facility at the Sumpal Compression Project started operation in April, sooner than the initial target of July 2017.
Meanwhile, Agarwal said that the Sumpal Compression Project was developed without affecting routine production operation at the block (no loss production opportunity), minimize disturbance to the local community, and involved local human resources. ?The Sumpal Compression Project has local content ratio of 58.96 percent,? he said.
The statement said that the Sumpal Compression Project has succeeded in optimizing gas production volume from 265 mmscfd to 310 mmscfd.
The Sumpal Compression Project comprises of three units of gas turbine compressors totaling 24,000 Horse Power, two units of gas turbine power generation each with capacity of 1 MW, process control system and safety instrumented system, and expanded operating area, the statement said.
Two years ago, state-owned engineering and construction firm PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) was appointed by ConocoPhillips to build the gas processing facility of the Sumpal Compression project.
