Minister installs Marzuki as BPMA Chairman

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said officially inaugurated on Monday Marzuki Daham as the Chairman of the newly set up Aceh Oil and Gas Supervisory Agency (or BPMA).

Sudirman said in a statement that the official inauguration of the BPMA chairman marks the transfer of authority over oil and gas assets in Aceh to the new agency from the upstream oil and gas supervisory agency SKK Migas.

BPMA was formed as part of the autonomy of Aceh. The province is given the right to supervise its own oil and gas blocks. Except for the blocks in Aceh, all blocks in the country are put under the supervision of SKK Migas.
