Minister issues decree on Java, Bali islands Mining Areas

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued new decree No 1204 K/30/MEM/2014 on Mining Areas in Java and Bali.
According to the copy of the decree obtained Monday, the mining areas in the two islands comprise of business mining areas, people's mining areas, and state reserve area.
The Mining Areas will become the legal basis for the governor, regents and mayors in issuing metal and non-metal minerals, rocks and/coal mining permits in the respective islands.
The decrees say the Mining Areas can be reviewed once in every five years.
