Minister issues decrees on Nusa Tenggara, Sumatra islands Mining Areas

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued two new decrees No. 1329 K/30/MEM/2014 and No 1095/K/MEM/2014, respectively on Mining Areas on Nusa Tenggara and Sumatra islands.
According to the copy of the decrees obtained Friday, the mining areas in the two islands comprise of business mining areas, people's mining areas, and state reserve area.
The Mining Areas will become the legal basis for the governor, regents and mayors in issuing metal and non-metal minerals, rocks and/coal mining permits in the respective islands.
The decrees say the Mining Areas can be reviewed once in every five years.
