Minister issues new regulation on price of electricity from hydro power plants

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said had on June 29 signed a new Minister Regulation No 19/2015 on the price of electricity purchased by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN from hydro power plants with capacity of up to 10 MW.
The Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy at the ministry said in a statement last week that the new regulation replaces previous minister regulations No 12/2014 and 22/2014.
The statement said that the plus point of the new regulation is that the price has already included the cost of connection from the hydropower plant to the PLN network. It is also the price used in the power sales and purchase agreement (SPA) without price negotiation and escalation, and is valid once the plant has reached the commercial operation date as agreed in the SPA.
The statement added that the power purchase transaction uses the rupiah.
