Minister issues regulation on geothermal production bonus

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan has issued Ministerial Regulation No 23/2017 on geothermal production bonus, according to a statement issued Friday by the ministry?s Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy.
The new ministerial regulation stipulates that geothermal developers who are already in production stage are obliged to pay production bonus to local administrations where they operate.
The production bonus is set at one percent of gross revenue from the sale of geothermal steam, and 0.5 percent of gross revenue from the sale of the electricity.
The geothermal developers directly pay the production bonus to the account of local administration where their projects are located.
