Minister meets UAE delegation

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan met on Thursday with business delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by the country’s Energy and Industry Minister Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei.
The ministry said in a statement that the meeting was aimed at increasing investment and trade cooperation in the energy sector and other strategic sectors.
During the meeting, the UAE investors expressed interest to invest in Indonesia’s energy, tourism and infrastructure sectors.
Jonan among others offered UAE investors to invest in Indonesia’s oil and gas sector including gasoline stations.
The planned floating solar power plant project in Cirata, West Java Province, was also discussed during the meeting where UAE’s Masdar plans to participate in the estimated US$150 million-$200 million project.
The ministry said that the project is currently under tender process to select partner for PT PJB, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, in developing the 145 MW floating solar power plant. Potential partners, including Masdar, are given until July 12 of this year to submit proposal. Winning bidder is expected to be announced on August 19.
