Minister promises to discuss Krakatau?s tax holiday request

Minister of Industry MS Hidayat promised to discuss with Minister of Finance M. Chatib Basri a tax holiday request made by PT Krakatau Posco Energy (KPE).
Speaking to reporters Monday following a meeting with President Director of state-controlled steel maker PT Krakatau Steel, Irvan Kamal Hakim, he said that KPE is considered to be a pioneer in producing electricity by taking processing the exhaust gas from the operation of steel maker PT Krakatau Posco, a joint venture between Krakatau and South Korea?s Posco Group.
?I promise to discuss this to the technical level. They (KPE) is a pioneer,? Hidayat said.
The KPE plant in Cilegon, Banten, started operation early this year with a capacity of 200 MW. (*)
